Performance Music Center is proud to announce the addition of Benjamin Dicke to our teaching staff.
Ben is a 2007 Graduate of the Berklee College of Music with a B.M. in Drumset Performance. While at Berklee he has studied with Terri Lynne Carrington (Herbie Hancock), Ian Froman and Jon Hazilla. Ben is a very experienced musician and is familiar with all styles, in particular rock, jazz, funk and Latin. “ I like to focus on the basics: technique,stickings, rudiments, reading, grooves and beats.”
Ben is well known in the local drumming community and is considered one of the most versatile players of the drumset in the area. He has been a part of dozens of groups and projects ranging in many different styles. Ben is also very knowledgeable in tympani, mallet instruments, music theory, ear training and the history of American and western classical music.
Drum lessons with Ben involve the importance of dynamics, improvisation and “learning by ear” in which various recordings are used to explain various music concepts.
Ben as an experienced musician, teacher and mentor has the right ingredients to achieve amazing results.
